Berber rugs are the traditional hand-woven carpets from the women of the Berber tribes of North Africa. Berber families make their income from weaving these carpets manually and selling them in local markets or souks. The Berber Rugs have a distinctive knot and are made using natural materials of cotton and wool. The Berbers harvest their wool from rustic heards and select only the softest wool for the carpets. Berber rugs have not been influenced by Arab design due to their remote positions and have kept their trible designs.
