Handmade Driftwood Curtains

by the Fishermen of Essaouria, Morocco

These Driftwood “Curtains” are handmade by fishermen near the Moroccan beach town of Essaouria, who collect driftwood that wash up on the North African shore. Each piece of driftwood piece is individually collected and strung together with nylon cord, attached to a wood panel.

These driftwood curtains are a unique work of art, creating an organic and ethereal atmosphere as they blow in the wind. These curtains can be made to order, however, due to their laborious and natural creation process, they do take a great deal of time. A small number of items may be available at time of request.
